Question:
Hopefully someone out there can help me in my search for an elementary
teaching position. I am currently on the job hunt and would welcome
any suggestions as to steps to take in my search. I've moved around
in the past few years and haven't found a job and am now settled and
looking within my hometown area. I've sent out resumes in the past,
but no responses really. Any adivce on what to do if I'm not
receiving call backs or interviews? Those of you who currently have a
teaching position, what is your advice in landing a job? Could you
please tell me some tips for my resume, i.e. how long it should be,
key things to include, (maybe I'm missing something),etc.
Answer:
-don't know how does your resume look like but still can suggets you
few things.
In your resume, give a prominent look to your stronger point, whether
it be your experience or qualification. if you are not much
experienced, doesn't matter, just make reader think that you are well
qualified. Moreover, prepare a cover page describing your job
objectives and dedication towards your profession. And don't forget to
include references.
- I am trained as a Special
Education teacher with emphasis in the blind and visually impaired
population. I recently accepted a position as an Instructional
Assistant, hoping this would get my foot in the door and allow me to
see postings for a teaching position. I hope it was the right move.
I'm a little nervous to become a substitute teacher. Do you think
that would be a good next step? Do you think I'd have the stamina to
teach all day, now that I've been out of college for over 20 years?
