Answer:
-There's plenty and good paying ones too - if you don't mind the commute
up to the Seattle area. If you can't afford to live in Oregon - don't
move here. The above may not be true for the Portland-Salem Corridor
but out in Oregon you are better off living around the Puget Sound. Of
course if you want to get a government job there are lots of those.
Oregon has a thriving welfare system.
-If you are moving here from anywhere but California, it should be easy
to find a job. It took me over 6mos to find work when we moved here
from the SF/bay area. I was told by a former Or employment officer that
the policy about jobs is to give them to Oregon residents before even
considering giving a job to a Californian. Thank goodness I am in a
position now where I don't have to think abou trying to find a job.
