How does a New Zealand Job Offer look like and what conditions are there?

Question:
If you have got a serious & official Job Offer from a New Zealand company. What obligations does the company have when they hire you when you arrive in New Zealand? Do they have to hire you for a certain period (or may the 'fire' you after 1 month)? Do they have to provide you a 1-year-contract?

How does a Job Offer look like? Should it be officially 'stamped' or something by a certain instution/organization (besides the company itself)?

Answer:
A job offer is normally a letter, on letterhead, making offer, including salary, start date, union agreement or attached contract. Under NZ law it is a contract which the company is bound to fulfil. Failing to comply, or trying to terminate without good reason and due process would open the company to legal action in the Employment Court.
