-I'm teaching a coupla classes at Alamance Community College this fall.
Enrollment there keeps skyrocketing--they think up 10% from last
year, and a record number of classes were already full as of
yesterday, and registration isn't over. Folks there believe it's in
large part due to the demise of the local textile industry
-completely out of left field, but every time i see or hear "alamance
community college", i think of sarandon's "annie" character in bull
durham. annie taught some kind of literature course there i think.
thought of this yesterday in fact, was as the burlington indians
rookie league game and saw their billboard on the outfield wall.
