Question:
Does anyone else think that Montana really didn't want to volunteer? I think
she was given an ultimatum to find another job or leave the house.
Answer:
-She said her contract (with B/M, MTV?) requires 20 hours/week of
community service, but it didn't stipulate _where_. It can be said
that her new "volunteering" job wasn't necessarily as self-less or
face-saving as she claims on the show or the Real World book (which I
haven't read, but remember reading a post about here). The reality is,
to stay on the show, she was contractually obligated to "donate" 20
hours.
-As you can tell from previous episodes, if MTV doesn't arrange something, the
cast members tend to sit on their behinds alot. It's much more interesting to
see the cast interact at home and at work, although it must be hard on them. I
would imagine it would be grueling to spend *that* much time with the same six
people. Had Montana not sought alternate employment she would have been forced
to leave and heaven forbid!
