Question:
Can anyone recommend a job search site where you can search by postcode and
salary only? I'm just starting to look at these sites and most of them start
from you specifying which job area you want to work in and as I'm really
looking for a change from my current industry (reprographics), being able to
just specify a location and salary requirement would be a better starting
point for me.
Answer:
-I've always found jobsite.co.uk to be pretty good. For reprographics, you
might try reed.co.uk. My wife uses tesjobs.co.uk as she is looking for a
job in teaching. In my opinion the Net is not yet as good as a good
recruitment agency, so do make a list of the agencies in your town and visit
them in person with a CV, so as to make personal contact.
-By posting your CV to a job board this will automatically get sent out
to all the agencies who have stipulated the same keywords as you have
given for your job search. This obviously means that the agencies it
goes to will have relevant jobs just waiting for you.
Two great websites for job seekers are www.siterider.co.uk (listings
of UK job boards) and www.agencycentral.co.uk which has listings of
both agencies searchable by county or skill and a list of job boards.
For my money, the best job boards are Totaljobs.co.uk,
Gojobsite.co.uk, Planetrecruit.co.uk, fish4jobs.co.uk and
Jobtrack.co.uk.
Some of the searches on these job boards have 'any' as one of the
industry sectors, choose that and your county or town and leave the
rest blank, you can always refine your search afterwards.
I hope I have been of some help and if you are ever looking for a
sales role then please get in touch.
