Question:
I am going to apply for NZ PR. I dont have the required points for
PR
12 for a Masters
4 for 8 years work experience
8 for age 32
No NZ work experience, no family , settlement funds less than 100,000
Total 24 points
Am I right in saying then that if I apply for PR, I will get the job
search visa. How soon after applying does it take to get.
After getting the job search visa can I go to NZ straight away and
look for a job?. What are the requirements for the type of jobs you
can have?. Can it be any job or are there certain things that you
need to have.
After getting the job hopefully, can I then start working or do I have
to go to the embassy to get clearance.
Answer:
-Have you had your masters assessed by NZQA?? 24 points and you will be
offered a job search visa if your skill are on the shortage list. You will
have three months to leave and six months in NZ to get a job. If it takes
you four months to get here then you will only have five months here. Nine
months in total to complete your PR.
Once you have a job you can start strait away and you will need to send the
copy of your contract you NZIS. When I took Phil's contract in they issued
me with our PR stickers there and then. Its pretty strait forward.
You will need a full time job with I realistic salary i.e.. you cant get an
IT job being paid $10,00 by your best mate as that's not realistic. The job
will need to be relevant to your work experience.
Don't know how long process times are at the mo but im sure someone else can
help you with that as I know there are a few people here who have just
submitted their visas.
Does this make sense?? Im not to good at putting things on paper!
-You may have missed an earlier post by me, but as regards timescales, I
applied for PR (via job search visa) to NZIS in London with my partner on
2nd September last year, and although we have been allocated a 'file
officer', we have yet to be allocated a 'case officer', and have heard
nothing from NZIS other than they have applied an 8 week delay to all
applicants
