Question:
I am presently doing a job search to leave Long Island and I want to remain
active in the SCA. One of the jobs I am looking at is teaching for the
Department of Defense Schools on military bases all around the world. How
active is the SCA on these bases? What about in other parts of the world like
Europe, Japan, Korea and South America?
Answer:
-Most larger bases will have a group. Size of group tends to fluctuate
wildly depending on how many SCA folk PCS in or out at a given time. I
spent 4 years in the palatine barony of the far west (I was stationed on
Okinawa) and there were always people in and out as well as visitoes to
our events from klorea and mainland japan.
-I expect that if you follow the links from WWW.SCA.ORG you will finf a local group
if not near, then a days journey away from most US Military bases/fort. The DOD
seems to love the SCA.
