The Women's Association of Small and Medium
Businesses (WASMB) is the first association of its
kind to focus on business and for women.
It aims to be a forum for us as business and
professional women to exchange ideas and information
to empower us into full engagement of the country's
economic as well as its social life. Put it
another way, WASMB is (a) inward-focus by
strengthening the peer group (us as business and
professional women), and (b) outward-focus in our
advocacy and relating to the public at large.
WASMB understands that Cambodia is in a state of
transition and plans to take full advantage of the
opportunities offered by the country's membership in
Asean and WTO.
The timing is right for WASMB. Naturally, we
understand the "numbers game", the importance of
building a large and broad membership base, and the
"demonstrating effect", that is, to overcome quickly
people's natural suspicion by providing benefits of
WASMB membership. In addition to these goals,
however, from the get-go, we will focus on
strengthening our core members (YOU !!) for a firm
foundation, as quality as well as quantity will be
our aim.
