Question:
Anybody know of any good companies in the midwest to work for ?
Looking for something regional preferably . I am from illinois about 25 miles
from st louis and have about 11 years exp. and a good driving record
Answer:
Double S Liquid Feed is a little company in Danville -- but you would
pretty much have to live in that area. They've got 3 or 4 non-food
grade, non-hazmat tanks and a
dry van. Also a couple straight trucks. Fantastic people and decent
money. Home weekends unless you want to run. Basically, Illinois,
Indiana, Michigan -- alot of their molasses comes out of Cincinnati. A
few other surrounding states. They haul their own product--most of what
you pick up in Cincinnati comes to the shop. Probably the best job Ron
ever had.
Stay away from IZP -- I managed to pitch a fit after Ron quit and at
least walked out the door with HALF of what they owed. Unsafe trucks.
There is also a company in Covington, IN you need to stay away from. I
don't know what their name is at the moment -- they change the name on
the doors every few months. They are leased to Sargent. You can make
some big, fast money by running illegal and running yourself to death --
they'll let you do it and encourage it -- that is also why they have to
change the name on the doors -- DOT is hot on their trail.
Trailiner is in your neck of the woods and someone we seriously
considered at one time. Mike Brooks is another we seriously considered.
Stay away from an O/O named Larry Taylor -- and he can come on here and
cry slander all he wants. We'll just talk about the money he owes us,
too. And how he burned our best friend that also drove for him -- and
not just money for them.
