Question:
Dear friends & consultants,
I will appreciate your help in finding places over the INTERNET, which
helps non-immigrants who are qualified; to find suitable jobs in CANADA.
By profession I am a Software Developer.
Answer:
- I will definitely post my resume on them. I
hope I am not pushing it if I ask for places that you know of where
non-immigrant workers are getting good response. I mean a friend of mine
who is JAVA certified & has more then 6 years of experience
has posted his resume on some of the sites you have provided in the
past but there was no response. It looks like some of these sites
Is becoming black hole of resumes. I will appreciate your
remarks/comments on this issue.
-Posting your resume alone, unless you are very very skilled, will not
get you results those days. You have to search for jobs, apply with
good CV's and cover letters and follow up with recruiters (call them
again and again), and accept what they offer.
I remember in 1997-1999, that I used to get many calls from posting my
resume in the web. Until year 2000, Java jobs were enormous with very
attractive offers. Some US companies in NY were offering leased Grand
Cherookees, and BMWs for Java developers. Can you imagine??
On the other hand in 2001, posting resume in the internet and waiting
for someone to call you is a dream of the past. Here is the situation,
for each job posted in those sites, if it's real (some recruiters keep
posting for fake jobs to keep getting resumes), there is at least 1000
applicants. They will first look for people with Canadian/US Major
Experience. New immigrants is their last option.
